What is this intangible beast that we both try to
Save
And
Slay?
Freedom of the press, perhaps?
The ability to speak one’s mind:
Without fear of repercussions?
No.
Repercussions indeed exist.
That fear is not in vain.
Freedom is the absence of fear, perhaps?
The ability to live:
In whatever way one pleases,
Without the fear of failure or pain?
No.
Fear is motivation.
Fear is not in vain.
Freedom is the capacity come and go, perhaps?
The ability to leave or stay:
By choice or nature?
No.
Coming and going is no freedom.
It is a burden and choice.
Freedom is no choice.
It is innate.
Is it innate?
No.
Freedom is a choice.
What kind of a choice?
The choice-
The choice to become disciplined.
Discipline?
How is being a slave to rules true freedom?
Being a slave to rules is no different than being a slave to one’s own desires.
Desires!
Hunger
Thirst
Lust
Passion.
What are you
If all you crave
Are the most
Basic
Intrinsic
Animalistic
Primal
Passions
Lusts
Thirsts
Hungers.
Desires!
If all you crave are the things of the flesh,
The body,
The heart,
And not the mind,
How are you to grow?
Freedom is the release of the mind,
The expanse of knowledge,
Exposure to experience,
Liberation from craving,
Deliverance from desire.
