Just a few miles from our residence halls, you'll find 240 lakes, streams, and beaches perfect for picnics and world-class water sports. Fun fact: You can canoe or kayak from our lakeside campus all the way to the Statue of Liberty in New York City.

In addition to being the only four-year college in the world-famous Adirondacks, we’re also the only campus in the U.S. with a student-run sawmill, Biathlon range, armory, and lumberjack sports arena. (We also have our own line of axes!)

Built by students, our forestry cabin is home to the Forestry Club and everything Woodspeople. Just down the hill is the newly constructed arena, where our lumber sports team chops, saws, throws, and climbs its way to wins.

Hands-On Learning with Dana and Dodge
Since Paul Smith’s was bought as a wilderness resort in the 1850s, we’ve had a draft horse program on campus. Today, we house two Haflinger draft ponies—Dana (the fiery leader) and Dodge (her easygoing sidekick).
