Writer/Graphic Designer/Web Developer/Digital Marketer/Open Source

Jeff Macharyas has worked in publishing, marketing, and communications for many years. Coming from a family of printers, Jeff started his journey in his uncle’s printshop in Fort Pierce, Florida, as a typesetter, and later becoming VP-Operations for Coast Publishing, where he was responsible for the design, editorial and production of several publications, including Quick Printing, Southern Graphics, Artes Graficas, and many more.

He later earned his Bachelor’s in Communications from Florida State University, a miniMBA in Social Media Marketing from Rutgers University, and a Master’s in Cybersecurity and Computer Forensics from Utica College.

Macharyas was an award-winning correspondent to opensource.com (RedHat) and owned his own creative agency, where he produced publications, websites and other material for the USO’s OnPatrol magazine, the American Spectator, Today’s Campus, SUNY, Marine Corps League, and has been a volunteer marketer for Catchafire.

Macharyas is certified as an Adobe Certified Associate in Visual Design and has taught classes in graphic design and web development at St. Lawrence University and Corning Community College.

Macharyas is a licensed Ham Radio Operator (K2JPM) and lives in Nicholville (St. Lawrence County), NY, with his wife and cat, and has become an “expert” in growing zucchini and tomatoes.
