Director, Major Gifts and Initiatives – Full-time, 12-month, Exempt, Staff
The Director of Major Gifts and Initiatives is responsible for the strategic direction and management of key donors and fundraising initiatives essential to developing, expanding, and stewarding major philanthropic support for Paul Smith’s College and its many programs and centers of excellence. The director will have frequent contact with alumni, members of the Board of Trustees, leadership of key foundations and organizations, and other funding prospects of the College.
Office Coordinator and Database Manager – Full-time, 12-month, Exempt, Staff
The Office Coordinator and Database Manager is primarily responsible for supporting the function’s daily operations as well as managing the College’s donor database. The position will help manage key office functions, including conducting prospect research and advancement services, supporting the administration of annual and membership appeals and major gifts activities, and overseeing all gifts recording and acknowledgments. This role will also often be the function’s first contact with stakeholders, from answering phones to managing email and website queries.

Mercantile Bookstore Manager – Full-Time, Regular, Exempt
The Mercantile Manager oversees all aspects of the Paul Smith’s College Mercantile, a unique retail experience that blends the tradition of the original Paul Smith’s Hotel, which opened in 1859 as one of the earliest and most luxurious of the great Adirondack resorts, with modern merchandising and entrepreneurial opportunities. This role goes beyond managing a bookstore; it represents an extension of the college’s marketing, hospitality, and community engagement efforts. The manager serves as a brand ambassador first for students, as well as faculty, alumni, and the local community, ensuring that the Mercantile reflects and amplifies the authentic Adirondack experience and the Smitty spirit for all visitors.
Mercantile Bookstore Sales and Receiving Associate – Full-time, 12-month, non-exempt
The Bookstore Sales and Receiving Associate provides excellent customer service, takes the lead in receiving merchandise, and assists in the sales of general merchandise and textbooks. This position assists customers with purchases, operates a cash register and credit card terminal, and is responsible for ensuring merchandise is properly displayed. The Bookstore Sales and Receiving Associate will interact regularly with students, faculty, staff, and college visitors. This is a full-time, 12-month position, with the exception of scheduled closings during the academic year.

The Student Support Specialist is a key contact for students and their families in submitting family financial information and understanding the College’s student financial aid awards and student accounts.
System Administrator/Integration Lead – Full-time, 12-month, Exempt, Staff

The work of this role involves managing, maintaining, and implementing all systems related technology on campus and assisting while also serving as the lead for application integration enterprise systems.
Working closely with a team of IT professionals on a small college campus, the Systems Administrator will be on the front lines maintaining the day-to-day operations of the PSC server infrastructure as well as monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair. The work involved includes but is not limited to: applying system patches and upgrades on a regular basis; upgrading administrative tools and utilities; periodic testing and verification of proper function/health of server infrastructure (On-site and Cloud based); and the design, coding/configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of enterprise integration tools.
