The Mercantile was transformed through the hard work of faculty, staff, and students. The unique sign at the entrance, and some other special touches, were performed by students Zephyr Brown, Hudson Heberlein, Jared Verblaauw, Nate Shocke, under the supervision of Forestry Professor Dave Simmons.
The former bookstore has been transformed into the new student recreation center–now more than double in size. It’s a place where students can meet, relax, shoot some pool, and even throw a few darts.
In true Smitty style, the ribbon-cutting ceremony, administered by Paul Smith’s College President Dan Kelting, will not involve any actual ribbons-you’ll have to attend to see what’s “in store” instead!
